It would probably depend on exactly what form of "lock somebody up
forever" you decide to impose on the person.  There's *plenty* of people
who spend long periods of time in psychiatric hospitals who'd rather be
there than be dead (and in fact, many of them are there *because* they
tried to be dead instead of alive...)

Which would you prefer, house arrest or death penalty?  Does your answer
change if it's phrased that way rather than "locked up forever"?

Depends on if beer and internet access are provided, take away those
on top of the ability to travel, and you may as well put a bullet in
my head to save me years of boredom.
