In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, iDEFENSE compiled a list of IP addresses for our clients mapped to 80 specific countries by spidering ARIN, APNIC, and RIPE. These lists have just been made publicly available on our web site in Excel format at: http://www.idefense.com/Intell/CI022702.html Hope you and others on this mailing list find them useful. -dave David Endler, CISSP Director, iDEFENSE Labs 14151 Newbrook Drive Suite 100 Chantilly, VA 20151 voice: 703-344-2632 fax: 703-961-1071 dendler () idefense com www.idefense.com -----Original Message----- From: Brian Nichols [mailto:Brian_Nichols () dcecu org] Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2002 10:16 AM To: incidents () securityfocus com Subject: Determining the country of orgin for IP address(es) Hello, I am looking for a list or a tool that will allow us to determine and possibly block IPs from other countries. I am aware of Geo-IP, are there any others? I initially understood, please correct me if I am wrong, that when IPS were originally given out there was a number scheme in regards to countries. If so, is there a huge check/cross listing?
