CIDR is a hell of a lot more than a band-aid. It extends the life of
IP v4 for an indiscriminate amount of time, and while v6 may be just
               indeterminate <-- Intended?
around the corner [according to some sources], the same type of CIDR
mechanisms will still be needed.


        Heck of a BandAid... like a heart transplant.
        Now if we could just get brain transplants.... :)
