Has anybody ported nmap to PalmOS? Is it practical?

Ok, I'm not a big palm buff, so...

I never thought it would happen, but I think I'm to the point where I
live and die by my palmV. I think it's just because I can play Taipan
(ah, the good old days of Apple II games) during boring meetings and
exclaim "fuck, they confiscated all my opium!" at inopportune times.

Is it possible to obtain a straight network connection with a Palm, not
needing cradle and PC, or modem, in the process?

The PalmVII has wireless access (I believe it's ppp over wireless), but
that's about it unless you use something like a Minstrel CPDP modem,
which is somewhat cradle-like. Everything else requires a cradle/adapter.

At this point, I didn't know Palms where ethernet-capable. I know other
devices (WinCE, etc) take PCMCIA cards, which make them network-capable,
but those aren't Palms...

There is an ethernet cradle out now, but I've only seen the picture on
palm.com and it appears to require an AC connection, so it's not exactly
portable. According to a press release[0] on the Handspring site, Xircom
will begin offering Ethernet, 56K Modem, GSM, PDC, Bluetooth, and 802.11
Springboard modules for the entire Handspring line in the Q2 2000.
