Probably, but the answer was perfectly logical, correct and to the

Seriously though Patrick, without more info there's just no way anyone
will be able to help you. That's what the correct but unhelpful answer
was supposed to convey.

and try re-posting your question.

        ulimit -c unlimited

and a gdb backtrace from the core-file wouldn't go amiss either. Make
sure you install nmap-debuginfo before you go wild with gdb though.
