Ok, I think I have understood the message :-) I will start digging into the bits and bytes the coming week-end... Thanks for this _____ From: nmap-dev-bounces () insecure org on behalf of Andreas Ericsson Sent: Wed 2005-11-23 16:06 To: Nils Magnus Cc: nmap-dev () insecure org Subject: Re: Nmap on RedHat Nils Magnus wrote:
Very good translation of an SIGSEGV :), but I guess Patrick's question concerned more the cause, not the effect.
Probably, but the answer was perfectly logical, correct and to the point. :) Seriously though Patrick, without more info there's just no way anyone will be able to help you. That's what the correct but unhelpful answer was supposed to convey. You might want to read http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html <http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html> and try re-posting your question. ulimit -c unlimited and a gdb backtrace from the core-file wouldn't go amiss either. Make sure you install nmap-debuginfo before you go wild with gdb though. -- Andreas Ericsson andreas.ericsson () op5 se OP5 AB www.op5.se Tel: +46 8-230225 Fax: +46 8-230231 _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev <http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev> _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev
