Just wanted to let you all know that I had my first independent experience
at using nmap to crack a series of machines as part of a test today.
Great tool!
I still have a lot to learn to really say that I can interact with the tool
as a pen-tester, but I will say that, even with only the man page for
guidance, I was able to successfully sweep a /24 and get enough
'interesting' pieces to eventually crack 4 of 5 systems in an afternoon. If
you can recommend a good text on how to "really" use nmap to its fullest,
I'd appreciate knowing.
