Hello, This is my report for week 9 of "Nsock-based port scanning" Google Summer of Code project. Accomplishments: * Cleaned up and comitted some of my unpushed changes to various branches of my SVN directory: -> Integrated the new plotting code to the script that generates daily regression testing reports, -> Added more ideas for use cases for the regression testing script, -> (more?) * Analyzed and fixed a bug in the nmap-nsock-scan congestion control timeouts related to not resetting the timeouts clock in retransmitted probes, * Fixed a bug in nmap-nsock-scan which resulted in Nmap always saying that the scan took 0 seconds and began in 1970, * Implemented basic --host-timeout support (not tested thoroughly yet), * Added early --scan-delay support, * Did another major refactoring of the code which got me closer to removing nhss_map. * Added a test for --scan-delay to the regression testing script, * The regression testing script now sends e-mails on its own using smtplib instead of relying on sendmail; this made it trivial to send the e-mails to multiple recipients. * Decided to put off further work on congestion control for now and unified the code structure for this subsystem with Nmap's scan_engine.cc so hopefully it will be easier to debug it in the future. Priorities: * Work on --min-rate and --max-rate, * Maybe experiment with --proxies scanning? * Keep working on regression testing software. Yours, Jacek Wielemborek
