ssl-cert getCertificate error - retry after "Failed to connect to server"

My scans will randomly fail to collect the SSL cert for a small percentage
of hosts (a subsequent rescan works for these hosts).   I get errors like
these in the debug output:

NSE: [ssl-cert 1.1.1.1:443] getCertificate error: Failed to connect to
server

Is there any way to pass a retry option to to ssl-cert.nse or is there some
way to have the script retry up to the --max-retries limit?
