Wouldn't you be better educating them on how to use it safely rather
than just trying to ban them? And why not install the tools you have
on their computers?

I'm not keen on Facebook but it is a technology that is out there
being used by a lot of people and it isn't likely to go away any time
soon. Education has to be better than censorship.
