RE: WIN32 using Snort 1.7, IDScenter

Hello,

Has anyone seen this error message before when using Win NT 4.0 sp6, with
Snort 1.7, IDScenter 1.08d, rulebase 1.7 from snort.org.


When testing the configuration 

Initializing rule chains...
ERROR: Unable to open rules files: local.rules



Any help would be appreciated

Hi - AFAIK the version of snort_stat distributed with snort v1.8
has a problem with the Classification and rule indentifiers in the
-A full output. 

I saw a posting to snort-users in June 2001 indicating that the author,
Yen-Ming Chen, had released an update (v1.15.2.2) but the link at 
www.snort.org (http://xanadu.rem.cmu.edu/snort/) and the other
link I have (http://xanadu.incident.org/) are non-op.

Does anyone have a current link to snort_stat? Any other suggestions?
