For Linux I use Power Quest's Drive Image. It understands ext2, and does
a decent job (does a great job for MS Windows). Unfortunately, it is not
well supported for Linux. I am unsure if it works for FreeBSD--don't you
use UFS?

What would be the best approach for creating an image of my snort box so

reinstall the o.s. from scratch?

Unfortunately, Norton Ghost doesn't know anything about freebsd, openbsd
file systems.

Can unix dump solve my requirement? AFAIK, it does an entire file system
backup but to restore it, you will have to have a unix installed on the
machine where you want to restore the dump information.

Correct me please.

Thanks.
