RE: snort 1.8.1-RELEASE + release rules + 4.4-RC = exit on signal 11

I had the same problem, snort 1.8.1-REL on 4.4 RC#2
submitted it to ports () freebsd org
original config:
make.conf has I686_CPU
make world
to fix it:
downgrade to 4.3-REL
make.conf had I586_CPU
make world
Don't know if it was the 586, 686 or 4.4, but segv seemed to be in the
libpcap() libraries.
