SQL error(s) using ACID 0.9.6b17

The error, "Database ERROR: Error: For SELECT DISTINCT, ORDER BY
expressions must appear in target list", occur when selecting
UNIQUE ALERTS, from within the following main page headings:
Last Source Ports
Last Destination Ports
Most Frequent 5 Alerts
Most Frequent Source Ports
Most Frequent Destination Ports

In addition, when selecting the 'Source IP' or 'Destination IP',
within the above headings an additional Error message is displayed
at the top of the page stating:
'CRITERIA ERROR: Unknown address type -- assuming DST address'

programs used:
adodb 1.4.0
acid 0.9.6b17(CVS 10/15/2001) schema v103
postgresql 7.1
