You're using RedHat, right? Do this as root:
# slocate -u
# slocate php.ini

It *should* be in /etc/php.ini, but there must be a php.ini file
somewhere since you've installed php. It might be php.ini.sample

actually, i'm using FreeBSD 4.7.

i was able to find the file using "find / -name "php.*". Erek's method also
worked.

what i found was /usr/local/etc/php.ini-dist

i'm assuming this is the file... however is this file active? is this only a
template? do i need to copy it over as php.ini?
