I just reread your config.  That line is your culprit.  Have a look at the
FAQ #6.19  [0].  It basically boils down to the fact you don't have your
chroot setup right.  Snort expects to find /var/log/snort/var/log/snort
with 600 perms.  It's not.  You have /var/log/snort and that's it....

Damn, I hate these when they are plain and simple, but just slip right
by...  :-(
