I believe in order to get GCC working on Solaris efficiently, once GCC has
been installed (from sunfreeware.com) using pkgadd, a symbolic link should
be created for GCC to CC.  cd to /usr/ucb and issue a "rm -f cc" and then
create your link "ln -s /usr/local/bin/gcc cc".  Sometimes this link needs
to be in place for compilation to work correctly.
