Telnet and FTP

Hi guys,


I got the text bellow from the part of the snort.conf that talks about 
telnet_decode: Telnet negotiation string normalizer


"This preprocessor "normalizes" telnet negotiation strings from telnet
and ftp" 

Is there a telnet negotiation strings from ftp? Or is it just like each
other?


I got the snort-2.1.1 but the snort.conf is the same from the Snort
2.1.0 Ruleset. At least it is said at the top of the file. Is it because
there is no changes?
