slightly off-topic, but might be interesting/helpful to this power-user audience: Does anyone know a way to get a linux-based system running Intel fiber network adapters to report their optical power levels? Analogous to the Juniper "show interfaces diagnostic optics" command? I suspect I have an optical tap providing poor signal strength to my snort IDS system and need to confirm/prove it..
