I don't think we'll put it in the manual. I have a different thought about how to handle the FAQ. Let me work through some big changes here in Q1 and we'll see where we get. -- Joel Esler Senior Research Engineer, VRT OpenSource Community Manager Sourcefire On Jan 10, 2012, at 7:47 PM, Joe S <js.lists () gmail com> wrote:
Not sure where it should go, but glad to see it might show up in the manual. Perhaps that and barnyard2, if it's not already there. I agree with this and I use pulledpork. I can't imagine running snort without pulledpork. However, there seems to be a lack of communication about the *need* to use pulledpork, as in "you shouldn't attempt to run snort without pulledpork" from the official documentation. Looking for something like this I found: * The Snort twitter feed tells you that you need it (today) * There a few recommendations to use pulledpork on the Snort blog. * The Snort FAQ makes NO mention of pulledpork. * The snort-users mailing archives document lots of issues encountered with pulledpork. Might it be a good idea to at least include it in the snort faq? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ridiculously easy VDI.
