licq actually fires off nmap and queso and finger to find out all this information -- it just makes it available in a convenient menu system.
that makes it more interesting. I have added a bit of this functionality in micq, using netcat and mns (excellent portscanner, but I use both nmap and mns.... but I think mns does OS detecting by calling nmap :) *> Panic?
