You can use nikto(http://www.cirt.net) and nessus(http://www.nessus.org )
achilies(http://www.mavensecurity.com) or 
paros(http://www.proofsecure.com/)for capturing the http/https data 
traffic between server and client
brutus(http://www.hoobie.net) for http authentication like basic,digest .
And all these tools are free.
