I get this in ./autogen.sh:

epan/../Makefile.am.inc:31: subst -I,NEWLINE,$(filter -I%, $(CFLAGS:
non-POSIX variable name
epan/../Makefile.am.inc:31: (probably a GNU make extension)
epan/Makefile.am:25:   `epan/../Makefile.am.inc' included from here
