Exactly! And why is key length limited so much in PGP? For the speed? If I have a message that is very confidential, I don't mind waiting a few minutes before it's encrypted. Why isn't my cellphone encrypted? Anyone who steels it and read my messages, agenda and view my pictures. Why isn't aren't my msn messenger conversations encrypted? Is it just because we don't want it? Or is it because companies and goverments rather see plain text on the wire?
You might be up to something there... It's just easier to monitor plain text messages, be it emails or SMS or whatever. And the NSA is doing it right now(Echelon system). I recommend "Body of Secrets" by James Bamford, which covers all of that aspects in detail, and it's also an interesting book on the biggest secret service on earth. With their immense computational power (who knows how many Gigaflops they currently got?) they could probably break and scan even today's GPG encrypted messages with ease, but not on such a large scale. That means if everyone used PGP, they'd be screwed :-) MfG Bastian Schwittay -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (Darwin) iD8DBQFB+whwqxYL8ht+qXsRAlFbAJ4pkkm3wQc2MNooorb7Z2HA0YQEcgCfcTmF /KKleIjyDV5QGp2LIOVRFoI= =BWSj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ################################################################## Dit e-mailbericht is uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
