I can see Cyberguard Firewall Appliance an issue for telling anyone the rest is standard, i mean they arent running windows 3.11 for workgroups :) or custom OS Marine XP for workstations for general work. be glad he didnt say DOS :)
but then again, now a hacker knows that they can focus on RH Ent, Solaris or BSD, They can also concentrate vulnerabilities in the routers because they have the specific IOS release they are running so they. remember the first step is enumeration and Curtis made that all the easier. We are currently running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000 as our typical server and desktop operating systems. You will see some instances of Red Hat Enterprise, Solaris, and BSD. Our current firewall choice is the Cyberguard Firewall Appliance. As for routers and switches we are 100 percent Cisco IOS. The current standardized os is 12.3x. Hope that helps. Pretty much I would like to know what operating system I should focus on if I wanted to pursue a government career in security or if I wanted to purse acareer in the private sector. Thanks.
