I would suggest you look at a *nix Firewall distro such as PFsense, IPcop, smoothwall. for that price you can have a super firewall. the idea is to use an old computer and turn it into a nice firewall that offers the same or more features then the ones you listed. Hello List It is about time for me to renew my subscription for my home firewall appliance. I am currently allowed to use 5 'nodes' accessing the internet at the same time and I have a URL filtering subscription along with the usual software/hardware support. With Father Christmas being particularly fond of devices that require an IP address (iPods - Xboxes - etc) I need to upgrade from 5 to 25 nodes. In total I am going to have to pay around 900 US dollars!!! What are my alternatives? I have looked at Sonicwall, Sofaware, etc. Any recommendations? other solutions to keep my home network and kids safe? Thanks in advance.
