Hello, this is a new bug found in W2K in all flavors, works with all levels of users. Here is the proof of concept:
works here too, win2k english SP1, running in vmware ontop of linux 2.2(debian 2.2r3), BSOD and reboot. looks like a STOP 021A. i even have win2k to not auto reboot and yet it does anyway. fun bug. the crash didn't occur until after the ping had finished, some white box flashed on the screen a few seconds before the crash(i kept hitting F7 + enter many times after the ping had finished). the crash didn't seem to occur without doing the ping first. vmware & linux were of course unaffected by the BSODs, have 180 other processes running and vmware was totally successful at isolating the crash to the virtual machine. glad i don't run win2k on native hardware :) nate -- Nate Amsden System Administrator GraphOn http://www.graphon.com
