# I can't wait until it becomes mandatory for everyone who doesn't want
# to be suspected of "terrorism", of any kind. They'll probably first
# sell it to us as a means of protecting our children...

next time my US passport expires it will be replaced with one that does RFID.
i don't mind them using RFID to read it at the border, but i really don't want
to carry an RFID tag around with me the rest of the time.

so i'll be looking for a passport-sized soft leather faraday cage before 2014.
i guess i'll need it for my credit cards and driver's licenses soon, too.

sooner than 2014, i'll be looking for some kind of handheld wand-like scanner
to check new clothes for embedded tags.

(zelazny's "my name is legion" and brunner's "shockwave rider" come to mind.)
