You're not allowed to yell fire in a theatre for a reason, but, I didn't say they shouldn't be able to do the story. We're dealing with SECRET level information. There is a chain of command to follow, and I'm sure there are processes for going outside the chain of command. Congress, for instance, can be notified if it comes to that. These people that are leaking information are only doing it to either hurt Bush (or so they think) or to get publicity for themselves. THEY are breaking the law. I'm also sure they signed something to the effect that they swear not to give up secrets and such - they've broken that contract. Members of the press who choose to write such stories should know, should EXPECT, that they'll be investigated. That doesn't mean they shouldn't write the story - their allegiances are not the government. On 5/15/06, Fergie <fergdawg () netzero net> wrote:
So let's see here -- you don't believe in freedom of the press? And you don't believe in whistleblower protections when a possible criminal act has been reported? Hmmm... - ferg
