Hehehe.... I can see that happening too....

How are they going to tell the difference between that new Aerosmith song my wife just BOUGHT the MP3 of and the one
a college kid downloaded illegally? The gov will destroy both of them.... What about other countries? How long will
it take for AV to pick up the 'bot?

Doesn't the gov remember what happened with Sony just a few months ago??????

Subject: [funsec] Diamond in the Rough: U.S. Congress Mulls Slew of Net-SexRules

I'll only quote one paragraph of this article, which I think is
a shining example of how whacked our U.S. lawmakers are:

[snip]

Dispatching "search and destroy" bots: The idea of disrupting
peer-to-peer networks surfaced in 2002 in the House of Representatives,
and Sen. Orrin Hatch said a year later that copyright holders should be
allowed to remotely destroy the computers of music pirates. Now Rep.
Walden has revived that idea, proposing that search and destroy bots be
launched to scour the Internet for illicit content.

"If you could search for different things, you might be able to search
for a known image, identify it and destroy it," Walden suggested. He
dubbed the idea "technologically scan and destroy."

[snip]

Freekin' amazing.

After you've finished laughing, you can read this reast of their
bright ideas here:

Enjoy. :-)
