Depletion of the oil fields would put the hydrogen cars off the road. Their fuel comes from hydrocarbons, i.e. natural gas. Extracting hydrogen by cracking water is also not viable ... more energy goes in than comes out. -----Original Message----- From: Blanchard_Michael () emc com [mailto:Blanchard_Michael () emc com] Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2006 4:11 PM To: rms () bsf-llc com; privacy () whitestar linuxbox org Subject: Re: [privacy] Medical firms sue to access Rx information Depletion of oil would probably be a good thing, in a demented kinda way.... It would force those Hydrogen cars into production, or force a Star-trek like transporter to become reality.... Nessecity is the mother of invention :-0 Not to mention giving the big old middle finger to the oil companies :-) Michael P. The interesting logistical question is how much money and time will be necessary to replace this production drop. The extra credit question: Will production at the Cantarell field continue to decline at a faster rate than new oil fields can be brought online. Richard ---------------------------------------------- July 24, 2006, 9:07PM Oil production falling at Cantarell as predicted Huge field off Mexico declining at a very fast rate http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/4068973.html Production at Cantarell, the world's second-largest oil complex, in the shallow Gulf of Mexico waters off the shore of Mexico's southern Campeche state, averaged just over 1.8 million barrels a day in May, according to recent government figures. That's a 7 percent drop from the first of the year and the lowest monthly output since July 2005, when Hurricane Emily forced the evacuation of thousands of oil workers from the region. Although analysts have long forecast the withering of this field, a rapid demise would pose challenges for the world's No. 5 oil producer. It would also be bad news for the United States, for which Mexico is the No. 2 petroleum supplier, behind Canada. And it could exacerbate tight global supplies that have kept oil at record prices. -----Original Message----- From: Blanchard_Michael () emc com [mailto:Blanchard_Michael () emc com] Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2006 3:04 PM To: drsollyp () drsolly com Cc: privacy () whitestar linuxbox org; rms () computerbytesman com Subject: Re: [privacy] Medical firms sue to access Rx information nah, I could care less how much people drive. Let everyone drive 126 miles a day for all I care just to get back and forth from the office (heck I do, unfortunately). I care about the price of gas per gallon, plain and simple. I don't think that refining costs have gone up *that* much that warrants the huge price increases. Michael P. Awesome Idea New Hampshire! We should make it national, but we know that will never happen as the Rx drug companies have so much $$$$$ tied up in politics it makes me sick and in need of one of those Rx drugs.... Heck, while we're at it, lets take Campaign funds and use those $$$ to subsidies Gasoline prices. How much did Kerry (the loosing presidential candidate) spend on his campaign? Multi-Millions I'm sure.... I'll be that would knock at least a quarter off of the cost of a gallon of gas...
That's the opposite of what you should want. You need to raise the price of gasoline to three times the current level, at least. _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy
