Just because they can does not mean they are legally entitled to do so. If they wish to retain title to the items they supply they need to make it clear at the point of sale that you are not purchasing an item, you are in fact buying a revocable license to view or use that item. Imagine if a book publisher were to walk into a library and remove all the books they published from the library's collection. Nobody would consider that acceptable but in effect that's what Amazon just did, albeit on a smaller scale. If amazon want to retain rights over content then in my opinion the need to revise their sale process and inevitably their pricing - a revocable license is worth far less than an outright purchase...
