I am using the internal NIC, I have also tried to connect using a wireless connection as well.

I am using Zenmap 4.60

You will get further if you provide the list with more details such as (but not limited to):
*Does nmap work for you from the command-line?
*Run: ipconfig/all>myipcfg.txt
    from the command prompt and attach the resulting myipcfg.txt file to an email to the list. It might tell someone on 
the list something about your network configuration that could explain things.
*what network card you are using.
*what version of nmap/zenmap you compiled/installed.
*anything else that you think might be relevant.

Subject: nmap issue

Hello,

I have just installed Zenmap on my vista laptop. When I try to scan a device, I continually get a message stating;

dnet: Failed to open device eth4
QUITTING!

What could be causing this problem? Thank you very much for your help.
