the configuration script works fine until I add --with-flexresp option to it. the error talks about libnet problems but I have installed both Libnet-1.0.2a and libnet-0.10.11.
Your problem sounds like it's similar to the one I had and posted a couple of days ago. I have it from folks on the Snort-Developer's list that there is a bug in the 'configure' code for the flexresp option. A patch exists for it, and for the same bug in the 2.0.0 version. This is the link to the patch that I was given, BUT be sure to read the associated "READ_ME_FIRST.txt" file for instructions. http://cerberus.sourcefire.com/~jeff/tmp The patch actually updates 'configure.in' and you have to process that file using such things as 'aclocal', 'automake', and the like. If you don't have these, you will need to get them from GNU in order to proceed.
