I have been tasked with identifying suitable anti-trojan-ware for workstations. Ive been looking at AdAware. Its free and seems to do the job. Im wondering what is the catch.?
Adaware isnt for anti Trojan would be the catch. It is specifically SPYWARE only. Spybot from www.eon.net.au will look at some trojans and identify them for you. Macafee's Virusscan ONLINE version actually looks at viruses/trojans/worms and SOME spyware. So, pick your flavour of virus scanner carefully for your needs, grab Spybot and use it too and Adaware is a great program to use with Spybot. Adaware is not as successful at getting ALL spyware out and where it falls down, Spybot can fix it. OTOH, Spybot isnt updated as regularly as Adaware and wont know some of the more simple spyware as quickly.
