Pankaj,

The SonicWALL products I have used have been pretty good, easy to setup and manage with a fairly obvious GUI.
The bundled AV by McAffee is also good, however getting the damn thing installed on client machines (Windows XP) can be
a big pain in the butt.
Other than that, it gets a reasonable thumbs up - mind you I do prefer Trend :-)

Best Regards

Gethin

Hello,

A service provider is offering Sonicwall TZ 170, bundled with Gateway level Antivirus (combo of 3 AV), Content Filtering & IDS/IPS (all standard versions). This will have to be backed up with client side AV with automatic updates being pushed from server. We have the option of McAfee or Trend Micro. Anti Spam will be by SSH. We also have the option using NS 2 of Trend Micro.

My request to list members is: could you please share your experience of Sonic wall in terms of effectiveness of AV, IPS/IDS, content filtering services.

Many thanks in advance

Pankaj
