As a Mac AV specialist, I've been savaged many times for daring to suggest that the platform (especially post-OS X) is not 100% invulnerable. The ironic thing is that I like Macs and might well use one all the time if my job didn't require me to stay up date with other OS's, but would worry about acquiring the same defensiveness/arrogance... I like the brand of arrogance I already have, thank you. ;-)
Was it almost impossible to make them see it your way? Even with all the evidence? Open-Source issues being sliently fixed in OSX ports, etc. 2003 OSS Sendmail flaw was also in OSX - http://www.macobserver.com/article/2003/09/21.1.shtml I had another article that talked about how most OSS groups will patch the OSS software before Apple patches the issue, therefore giving attackers the possible attack map to hit Apple. -Todd _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
