I'm not sure how I feel about this, really -- sure, he should
serve some time for his crime, but I'm a little hesitant to endorse
a DNA database for hackers. Violent offenders, yes. But.. Hackers?

I'd be intersted in your opinions on this...

Anyways, Poulsen on Wired news.

Hacker Adrian Lamo is in trouble again, this time for failing to give the federal government his DNA.

On Tuesday, federal probation officer Michael Sipe filed a notice of violation in a northern California court accusing
Lamo of refusing to submit a blood sample, in violation of Sipe's instructions and a two-year-old federal law.

"He reported to the probation office as instructed; however, he refused to provide a blood sample for DNA testing, in
violation of the general condition of supervision requiring compliance with federal law," the filing reads.

Lamo is nearly 18 months into a two-year probation sentence for hacking The New York Times in 2002. His attorney didn't
return phone calls, and it's not clear from court records why the hacker objected to providing the FBI with a blood
sample for its DNA database.
