All phone companies are required to allow competitors use their
infrastructure. Other phone companies have sprung up and done well -
there are two local phone companies in the KC area, only one has every
built a system to support their services. Cable companies can provide
every service a telco can. Satellite will, eventually, be a third
provider realm.

What you call a monopoly I obviously call a successful company.
Microsoft, AT&T why not IBM, Pepsi, and Hershey's?

While we're on the subject of you being a communist, how much extra

as I'm often short on expendable funds and I'd like to be able to
visit the bar more often.
