But this isn't about what you know and what you don't know, its about what you are willing to accept. Its obvious that you aren't willing to accept any "facts" - regardless of source - unless they support your own opinion. Fortunately, no matter how many of you do this, you can't change the facts.A little pot and kettle routine there, methinks.
I don't.
Statemaster's analysis is useful up to a point but it doesn't examine all types of gun control laws, doesn't factor level of enforcement, and doesn't examine ethos. Statewide stats also are meaningless when doing comparisons. Tell me, for example, what Richmond is compared to DC, or how Mecklenburg County, VA, compares to Garrett County, MD.
As I stated, their statistics are at the very least old and not very credible either. But they're not mine so I have no need to defend them.
Dan, in a message that just showed up on another thread, is right about the level of politics on the list. I'll end my part in this discussion here and refrain from now on with regard to others.
LOL, that is so often the way to "win" an argument, isn't it. Perhaps I should just be kicked off the list. Who knew that political threads would wear out you seasoned Netizens?! I have to ask though: do these political threads so tie up the list's servers that non-political threads can't get through? If all of the political threads were removed from the archives for the last several months, how many threads are left that are on topic? How many lists have you people been on that kept completely on topic and didn't die out because of it? Finally, is there a yet unknown worm free in the wild infecting computers and remapping the "Delete" key to "CTRL-R"? In case I'm booted, and you are infected with this worm, re-address it to me personally and save the list any further bloodshed. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
