THAT is a fair point. While the trials were, in some part predetermined.
The remainder... I must conceed the argument.

I *WOULD LOVE* to be able to summon the dead though. I'd love to hear the
opinion of  those 56 men. I suspect a lively debate and I won't go into my
personal view as to their opinion beyond saying I'd have to hide a lot of
mirrors around here and in Washington...

For some reason, I thought Australia was populated by *convicted* felons -
i.e.
they had their day in court (with whatever fairness was in vogue at the
time), and deported after being found guilty.  I wasn't aware that the
British were sticking people on ships headed for Australia for the express
purpose of avoiding having to give them a trial.  Feel free to provide
pointers if I snoozed through that class in World History.. ;)
