I forget who asked about this but about 1999ish, a buddy of mine received a 5.X install disk from AOL. After he installed the software, he had an infection. I don't recall the name of it but I do know that when he called AOL, they were very aware of the issue.
Still don't recognize this. There was a rumour around 1995 that AOL floppies were infected with BUPT, but AOL claimed that there were no verified instances, and there was a CIAC advisory to that effect.
