It bears mentioning that this was written in an age when the greatest
mobility was on horseback.

As Guderian showed with Blitzkrieg: when you have the advantage of
maneuver, you can flank a static defense.

As more recent, lightly armed, flexibly based, and ephemeral enemies
have shown: sporadic offense against a static defender, with nothing to
defend, can be very effective.

When dealing in Cyberwar, where time and space are (mostly) irrelevant;
it remains to be seen if the rules derived from the Napoleonic wars
remain valid.

I know it was a farce of a movie from a tech perspective, but a "fire
sale" is not out of the realm of technological possibility.
