There's nothing remarkably wrong with experimenting with somewhat
dangerous technology, as long as the risk is moderate, and much of our
common body of human knowledge can be attributed to such practices.

Sure, you need to be held accountable if you do it in unsafe manner and
for frivulous purposes, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The difference between doing a valuable work and screwing up is, let me
invoke another bad analogy, the difference between operating a nuclear
(no, wait, coal) power plant and blowing it up due to gross negligence.
