The UK has a long long way to go to catch up with the U.S. in crimes involving guns. I think you missed the point - guns are BANNED in the UK (have they banned swords yet? Knives too, right?). Besides, crime has been falling in the US for several years while it has been climbing in other countries. Another key to look at is type of crime. For instance, the UK has 10 times as many (if I recall the comparison correctly - and I may not be) the number of "hot burglaries" - presumably because the criminals in the UK are armed and not worried about their victims being armed (since, after all, the victims are generally law abiding citizens and not "allowed" to possess tools of self-defense). BUT, lets not continue this discussion here, I do not wish to "offend" the poor folks who are reading for fun security related topics only and there's nothing funny about not being able to provide your own security. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
