I know people, well at least one,  that have sent spam complaints to IANA 
claiming junk mail originated from that address. 

I don't recall receiving legal papers for 127.0.0.1, but do recall several demands from law enforcement agencies (and 
long ago, when I was at APNIC, the US Secret Service) for customer information for RFC 1918 space.
