It's called artistic license.  For those who remember the old Cheech&Chong
movies, there's a scene where one character says he doesn't do shrooms
anymore, because it just makes him see snakes.  The backstory is that some
of the Indian tribes that use peyote in religious ceremonies believe that
one of the signs of a "true" revelation while under its influence is the
appearance of a lizard...

  I'm not sure about other Christian denominations, I do know they don't all 
believe in the original sin however.

Oh?  The concept of "original sin" is pretty integral to Christianity - if
you're not tainted by "original sin", you have no need to be "saved". What
denominations *don't* believe that?
