Chill dude - one thing that most people completely miss is that the
REASON for religion is the belief that life can be better (somehow.)

Actually, religion exists so that we can make sense of the universe - questions
like "Why are we here?" and "What happens after we die?" and "where did all
this come from?".

Q Why are we here?
A Plastic (George Carlin)

Q What happens after we die ?
A If you are buried then you will rot, if you were cremated then
someone will probably throw you away after a couple of generation.

Q where did all this come from?
A The big electron in the sky ?

Without religion, you have to find some other way to deal with the fact that
we're just a bunch of ex-monkeys on a rock orbiting a mundane star in an
unfashionable corner of a galaxy headed towards the Great Attractor for no
obvious reason.

One way is alchool (if you're religion does allow it), or drugs (again
seek permission from either you're religion, you're government or
both) finally one can go kill himself.

Curiously, I don't feel any need to "deal with" these facts. What I have
to "deal with" is too much spam, a left knee that isn't as springy as it
used to be and too much weight (the last two might be related). The lack
of fashion of this part of the galaxy isn't something that bothers me at
all.
