you could stretch and swirl the picture in a fractal pattern, leaving
Waldo distorted but still verifiable as waldo and then show it to your
friend.

you would leave the four corners or some pre-agreed-upon locations
intact, but the rest of the picture would be too distorted to give
your friend any real help..

I guess the only issue here is making sure someone doesnt digitally
insert a copy of Waldo...

.. is it possible to distort the image using a hash who's key would be
known by all parties before the exercise? (i.e.: center on Waldo, then
run the warping algorithm which would leave the center intact, )

just an idea
