Or maybe we should apply Brian's (and your?) logic and give
_everyone_ computers and watch computer crime and spam fall to zero?

crime, yet Brian and you (and many other morons) re-phrase the gun
ban

Nick, you seem to have a real knack for putting words in people's mouths AND THEN calling them morons.

All I've said is ...
1) that one's logic is overly simplistic and incorrect when trying to make an absolute and direct correlation between the existence of guns and murder, and 2) guns / weapons are necessary, as a last resort, to protect one's human rights and freedom ... to protect them from violations by criminals, individuals, and even governments.

I'm a big fan of good quotes, so here are a few that help illustrate my points.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson

"Government is Dangerous - Brought to You By the 175 Million People Murdered By Their Own Governments in the Last Century."

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -- John F. Kennedy

"Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have." - Davy Crockett

If the "gun problem" is due primarily to the existence of guns, rather than to societal factors like how people are raised, broken homes, child abuse and neglect, education, etc, then explain how gun control is the obvious solution for these cold hard facts...

13% of the US population is black
47% of homicides in the US were perpetrated by blacks
94% of black victims were killed by blacks

Hell, based on those numbers, we could significantly reduce murder in the US if we simply stopped selling guns to black people. Or at least that's a valid conclusion for anybody who adheres to the simplistic and often fallacious logic of the typical US gun control advocate.

Why is violence such a big problem at football matches in the UK? We have soccer (aka football) all over the US, in every school and every town, and yet violence is virtually unheard of at US soccer matches. Should we just ban soccer/football in the UK?

Regards,
x
