What was the running average five years after the ban compared to five years before? Why don't you quote that stat?
Why didn't you? You're the only intelligent researcher here, after all.
Are you so dense that you think _only_ the legal status of gun ownership could possibly affect the level of gun crime?
No Dick, I mean Nick, my argument is that the legal status of gun ownership has NOTHING to do with the level of gun crime. Criminals do not obey laws - which is why they are CRIMINALS. Even a moron like myself can grasp that concept.
Only a moron would expect an immediate significant reduction of gun crime to follow the instigation of a ban, as even the extremely dense among us realize that it will take quite some time for the bulk of the existing gun stock _held by those likely to willfully commit gun- related crimes_ to be located and removed from "the wrong hands".
How long do you give it? Whats an acceptable number of innocent and defenseless deaths while waiting for the gun free nirvana? Once guns are completely gone, do you just go down the list of tools that are used for murder and ban them, until people are cutting their sandwiches with overgrown fingernails (the length of which will no doubt need to be regulated)? Once your back to the basic murder tools - and the tools increasingly being used in crime in the UK - do you begin severing hands and feet? _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
